Comparison between November 2008 and February 2009, West Fork of the San GabrielPhotos and Comments by Graham 
The difference is dramatic, quite apart from the difference of summer and winter foliage, or lack thereof. (Above) is the river in November 2008. (Below) is the river on 04 February 2009. While these are not the same place on the river, they are both typical views. Firstly, I think the river had more water in November than in February. And the February scene is characterized by the multitude of downed limbs from trees, large and small, that constitute a tangled visual clutter that was not present in the clean lines of the November scene.
