SGMHA Survival Tip of the Month, Wristwatch Compass
Did you know that you can easily find north using nothing more than a wrist watch and the sun? Well it’s possible, just follow these simple steps:
– Place the wristwatch flat on the palm of your hand, then rotate your body so the hour hand is pointing at the sun.
– Using noon as your point of reference, find the midpoint between the hour hand pointing at the sun and 12 o’clock; that midpoint is south.
– Now that you know where south is, north is simply the opposite direction. So imagine a line facing away from south, and now you know where north is!
